Why Does My Printer Say This?

I have a hp photosmart c4180 all in one and it says that it has a paper jam, it doesnt have one, before this when i tried to print the printer would get a sheet of paper and trow it out and then print on the second sheet of paper and it would stuck the end of the sheet, i have revised the printer many many times and it has nothing, how can i make this message go away and let me print my essays?

Most printers have logic sensors which indicate to the computer there is a jam, if there is no paper obstructing this sensor then it is a safe assumption this sensor has gone bad. You should replace the printer, as the price of all-in-one printer has gone down a fair amount. Hope this helps.

My husbands boss gave him a nice printer for that same reason. When we got it home a plugged it in the paper came out. Try unplugging it and replugging it back. Open it were you change the ink sometimes you have access to the inside and can find the paper.
