Which Photo Printer Is Best??
Filed in Deskjet Help Forums on ม.ค..14, 2010
I checked pc world and can’t get a straight answer. I’m looking for quality not quantity. Whether it’s a multi function or photo only doesn’t matter to me, but i would really like a printer that has the best photo quality.
According to PC World, the HP Photosmart D7360 is a best buy but it seems the quality is not great. The HP Photosmart 8250
had the highest rating but again, quality was not great.
SO, what’s the scoop? I have my own photo editing software so I don’t really need that bundle but if the printer really prints good photo’s I won’t need to do a lot of editing right?
Thank

The HP Photosmart D7360 and the Photosmart 8250 are basically the same printer. The reason that the HP Photosmart series are so popular is because of the ink price. Cost per photo with the 8250 or D7360 is 24 cents. Compare that to an Epson or a Canon which are between 50 and 60 cents per photo. For example: many photo printers now have 6 individual cartridges. If you purchase the wrong printer, you’ll find yourself spending tons of money on ink. A set of 6 cartridges for some Epson printes will cost you about $100 -for one set of ink (6 times $15)! However, for the 6 cartridge HP printers, you can buy all 6 cartridges along with 150 4×6 sheets of photo paper in a combo for $36, which brings the cost of photo down to 24 cents. As far as the photo quality goes, you’ll be more than pleased. If your camera took a good photo, then your printer will print a good photo. I have an HP Photosmart C5180 (same ink system as the D7360 and 8250) and I’ve never had a photo I didn’t like come out of it. It’s always printed what the camera took.
Basically, the HP Photosmart printers are cost efficient. Photos printer on Epsons or Canons simply cost too much. HP have been rated the most reliable printers by PC Magazine 15 years in a row. I agree with PC World. HP D7360 is the best buy. Photos will be better than what Wal-Mart or Walgreens could ever wish for. Although the photos will not be the best on the market, everyone I know that has an HP Photosmart printer are very pleased with the results.
Another note, the D7360 replaced the 8250. The 8250 is generally no longer sold in stores. I’ve seen the D7360 at most retailers such as Best Buy or Office Depot.

I have a Canon Pixma 5000 and It is the best it does everything copy, scan, print, and photo printer! The pictures come out wonderful and a lot better then on the HP’s. Plus I only paid 200 for it which was the same price as the high end HP (which I got first and took back because the pictures came out fuzzy).

I prefer the Canon Pixma printers. You can go to CNET.com and check out reviews of their printers. Stay away from epson. I had 2 and they both failed due to clogged nossle.

If you go into any place that deals with imaging they will only stock canon and epson printers. If you are looking for a high quality photo print then you will certainly want to get a canon or Epson.
