What Do You Do When There Is No Paper In The Paper Jam?
Filed in Deskjet Help Forums on ธ.ค..28, 2009
i have a hp photosmart all-in-one printer.
it says that it has a paper jam, but there is definatly no paper in it.
are there any switches that it could have hit or something?
i don’t want to take it in.
it is a waste of time and maybe money.
am i just missing something?

The above idea to unplug and then replug is Very Good However, if that does not resolve the issue, try the following. The cause of an Error Paper Jam with nothing in the paper path is likely one of the following:
1. Dust blocking a sensor
2. Piece of paper blocking a sensor
3. Bad Sensor
4. Paper not pulling properly from the paper tray
5. Something blocking the paper path.
6. Sensor Flag Stuck.
The problem is almost definitely a Sensor Problem. Taking some Compressed Air and blowing out the paper path May provide a solution however is is just a possibility! I’d agree with your thought that taking it in for repair would be expensive, even if just a simple problem, and likely not Cost Effective.
I Hope this Helps!

Yes you are missing something if you have the manual please lock into if not, just look in the back and will be able to open and remove the paper that is stock in it, if there is none then just reset it, by unplugging it; please be aware that sometimes the there is little bit of paper in the printer and is what is giving the signal as a paper jam.

I’ve had that prob with my hp 335 all-in-one once or twice and I just unplugged it from the pc and the wall and then plugged everything back in and it cleared that way.
