Usb Flash Drive On My Printer??

hi i just bought the SanDisk USB Flash Drive and my computer recognizes it but my scanner doesnt recognize the device when i plug it into my printer. i have the HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-One printer which has a scanner, fax, and copy machine as well..and when i plug it into my printer it says “Unknown device. Disconnect device. Refer to printer documentation to troubleshoot.” i tried disconnecting the device and the same message appeared. how do i fix this?? the flash drive works on my computer but not on my printer…help!!!

It could be that the drive has an incompatible file system.
What does the troubleshooting documentation say?
