HP Deskjet printer buying guide

I have a HP Deskjet 3845 and it always used to work, but now whenever I try to print something it says “Out of paper” and I have paper in there. I have no idea what’s wrong.

i use HP photosmart scanner/printer/copier
with my mac book
i had my scanner a little less than a year, so its not old.
ive already tryed calling HP and they just hung up on me, i already uploaded my software a long time ago, and hp.com only helps HP computers, not macs.
oh and i lost my software.
on my scanner it says “USB not connected”
and then on my computer it says “Sorry, scanner could not be initialized (scanner not found)”
what do i do now? how to i fix it?

I have an HP Photosmart C7280 working from my basic Vista laptop. when i ask it to print it shows the printer online and on my system (it is networked via bluetooth) it says it is printing. Then after a long wait a message comes up on my laptop screen that says ‘document failed to print’. Then when you click on the error message it says that the failure to print was caused by an error in the printing system but gives no more info. It has done this a couple of times now and i have re-started both the laptop and the printer individually and together but makes no difference. It does do this occasionally but usually re-starting one or the other does the trick. The printer works fine form our other PC when asked to print so can anyone help me.. just ask if anyone needs any additional info to help me!!

I already re-installed it, and also updated the driver, and it still isn’t working.
It was working fine a few months back, and now it just blinks, but nothing happens.
My printer’s working fine, and it prints out right away when I need to.
Is there something else I need to do to make the scanner scan again?

i just bought the hp photosmart d7160. I loaded the disk but it won’t download into the computer. When the box pops up asking for the printer model there is no printer listed to match mine.
