HP Deskjet printer buying guide

I have an hp photosmart C4440 and i went through the whole process of using the cd. Then i plugged my printer into my computer after i went through all the cd installing and when i went to print something it did not show my printer as an option so i clicked add printer and plugged my printer in again when it asked me to. my computer said that the hardware was found. i went through the wizard crap only to have it repeat to me for the 4th TIME that it couldn’t install the printer due to the proper software being unable to be found. Help! I am soooo tired of this, i just want to print my stuff!

I have a HP Photosmart C4280 printer that refuses to scan. It has worked before, but today for some reason, when I hit the scan button a window pops up. On the window it says:
The program cannot read from or write to the file system.
This has never happened before, and I’d like to know what I can do to make it scan again as soon as possible. I thank anyone in advance to helping me.

It seems HP made this series with some using parallel cables and some with USB cables.
The link above will help you determine which cable you need. USB ports are small and the parallel ports are big.

I have a HP Pavilion Slimline and I’m having difficulty getting it to read anything placed in the E: drive.
I bought a HP Photosmart Premium (print/scan/copy) today and can’t download the printer software because the computer can’t find the software - even when the disc is in. I’ve shut down, the computer, completely a couple of times and am still having the same problem.
I’ve even went to ‘add printer’ and am still having the same problem.
Does anyone what could be causing this? How do I get it to recognize drive E:?
I am using Windows Vista.

i got a hp photosmart c4385. it won’t connect to my laptop wirelessly. it works with the usb. it says it can’t find the printer wirelessly even though the signal strenght for the internet is 5. please help me. i have a verizon dsl box. it has wireless built in it.
