HP Deskjet printer buying guide

I have windows vista on my Acer Extensa 5420, and I have a HP Photosmart C4280 printer with a C4200 #6 scanner.
I have about 200 pages to scan, and it takes really long to scan each page. I need to scan each one as fast as possible. I am trying to edit the settings but the vista settings make it very tedious and annoying to modify the speed.
I know when I had this printer/scanner hooked up to an old dell with windows XP I could change it where the scanner scans the image in black and white and it came out so much faster.

I have a hp psc 2410 photosmart all-in-one printer and i recently began to use it again with my computer…but it wouldnt print due to port errors.So i unistalled the software…and then attempted to reinstalled but when i went to plug the printer back into the computer…I recieved an error message saying…”USB DEVICE NOT RECONGNIZED” …ive been at this for hours try to figure out a solution..
When i go to device manager it shows up as Unknown Device…It says that theres no driver so i attempted to find the driver but no luck i havent been able to get anywhere!
Please would really appreciate HELP!

I want to make a small home network so that I can share files and the printer. Here’s the equipment I have:
-iMac with Mac OS X 10.4
-HP Laptop with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
-HP Photosmart C5280 Printer
-Linksys (WRT54G) Wireless Router
-Tons of extra cat5 cables (Ethernet Cable)
My iMac is the desktop, primary computer that has the Printer connected directly too it. I have software on both Mac and PC systems that files can be opened on both patforms. I essentially want to be able to do file transferring between the two computers, and print from the laptop when connected to the network.
Does anyone have a really good walkthrough or know where I can get one?

Ok so I just got my hp 22 cartridge filled and ever since I put it in there its been printing green lines through everything and even when I am not printing pictures and it is black lettering it turns green an my printer is a HP deskjet D1 400 series.
Please help me…..=)
