HP Deskjet printer buying guide

i have a HP deskjet D1420
the problem is that it only prints if i print pictures but if i want to print a letter it doesnt work it has brand new ink color n black
but why i cant print my papers that uses black ink but if i print pics it works i guess is something with the black ink any ideas???everything is set up it was working before

I have just bought a HP Deskjet F2400 All-in-one Series Printer, i have installed all the software however, i got to the point where it tells me to connect the Printer to the Computer Via the USB Cable which i have connected however my Laptop doesn’t recognize the Printer.
Does anyone have a solution to my problem?

I was trying to print a test page for my printer and it printed something else. But since it did print something else I know that it will print. So I went to the print queue box to cancel the job. And now under the status section of the job it says deleting - printing. It won’t clear off so I can print something else. Its HP Deskjet 3845. I just need to know how to how to clear it. I tried Cancel all and everything and it still wont go away.

I just reloaded the cartiage with ink and put it back into position but my printer says that there is no ink. Reinstalation of the driver doesn’t work. The ink head looks normal - there is ink on it.

I have windows vista on my Acer Extensa 5420, and I have a HP Photosmart C4280 printer with a C4200 #6 scanner.
I have about 200 pages to scan, and it takes really long to scan each page. I need to scan each one as fast as possible. I am trying to edit the settings but the vista settings make it very tedious and annoying to modify the speed.
I know when I had this printer/scanner hooked up to an old dell with windows XP I could change it where the scanner scans the image in black and white and it came out so much faster.
