HP Deskjet printer buying guide

my printer is priting one minute and stops another i need to print my project out bu when i press pring a image of a printer comes were it shows the time and it says 1 document pending for done ? I have a hp deskjet 3600 series any help 10 points plz help

i have a HP deskjet D1420
the problem is that it only prints if i print pictures but if i want to print a letter it doesnt work it has brand new ink color n black
but why i cant print my papers that uses black ink but if i print pics it works i guess is something with the black ink any ideas???everything is set up it was working before

all the software gets excepted such as itunes and quicktime for the ipod. My printer excepts hp photosmart essentials and hp solution center but does not except the devices.

I am trying to print invitations. The page is 2 cards (perforated-so you print 2 at a time) that are each 5.5″ X 4.25″, so the total page size is 5.5″ X 8.5.
I need to print the text on the left and the right side of each invitation I want blank to attach a photo. So I created a Word document with 2 columns, text in the left column and nothing in the right. The text is centered in the left column. In the page setup in Word, the paper size is correct.
When I print, the printer (an hp psc 2410 photosmart) puts through one piece of paper and says “wrong paper size detected”. The only way to make it keep going is to hit OK on the printer and then it prints at the top of the next page but centers the text in the middle of the page (instead of the middle of the left column like it shows on the screen).
WHY IS IT DOING THIS??? I just want it to print it the way it is shown on the screen. What am I doing wrong?
