HP Deskjet printer buying guide

I need to buy a printer with the following
The basic functions of Printing, copying and scanning .Since i print both photos and documents,the printer should also be able to print from a memory card and from a pictbridge compatible camera . I have been looking at the HP photosmart range ( 7200 and 6200 series) and also at Canons Pixma MX 308- but the more I read reviews the more confused i get.
So ithought id ask on this forum. Any suggestion will be of help as i need to buy this ASAP.

It worked fine. But after 3 months maybe, it doesn’t print well, lines of printing are missing. I refilled the cartridges and cleaned them, but it’s the same. So I have to buy new cartridges.
Was I unlucky ? or the refill kit is not a reliable solution ?

okay so right now i have an HP photosmart C3180 all in one, and i hate it because it completly guzzles ink. i still want an all in one, but it needs to be way better on ink. i print many things from school assignments to work resamays to detailed pictures that take up the whole page. any suggestions on what to get?

I have an HP Deskjet D1420 printer and while editing the settings in page setup in print preview on my computer, I erased the “header” and “footer” codes (not numbers). All I remember was that they began with “a&w&” with random letters following. How do I get these codes back?
