HP Deskjet printer buying guide

This video shows how to resolve print quality issues if the settings in the print driver does not match settings in the print job. The printer shown is the HP Deskjet D1660. I am an HP employee but I do not represent HP on this site.

I have an HP Photosmart C3180, and everytime I try to print something it says HP tools has quit, etc etc. Also, everytime I sign onto the computer it asks me to finish installation by picking a printer but there are no printers on the list even though mine is plugged in and working.
In addition, how do I change settings such as printing double sided on my mac? On a PC before you print that box pops up with all the settings but this just prints right away.
HELP PLEASE.

Im using the HP Photosmart Preimum
To make it short there was a little trouble with the internet before and the printer now cant connect to the router, i need to put in manual settings no other way works to connect
So please could you tell me which IP Adress i need to put into the printers manual settings
and the Subnet Mask - what do i put in there how to find out
and the Default Gateway number,

i have to put my computer on to print on photo paper?
i have an hp photosmart printer, hp glossy photo paper and im using microsoft word. do i just hit print or do i have to put it on a special setting??

It is not cartridge related. I think it has to do with my computer settings (which I do not know how to reset for this particular printer.
