HP Deskjet printer buying guide

I use a Dell laptop so I am often times mobile. I don’t stay in one place where my printer is, so I often have to unplug it. I disconnect the USB cord, then later on when I need to scan or print something I plug it back in. I wait a minute or so and HP Photosmart pops up and asks me to install the printer. I’ve done this tons of times. Why do I keep having to insert the disk and installing it every time I want to use my printer? Is there a way to make it quickly be ready when I plug it in and without installing or updating?

i cannot complete installation
and i got
c:/windows32/system32/hs.dll is not a valid window image
what can i do?

The puter tells me that the file Hpzr3209 is missing… What can I do to correct the problem? I did try to reload from the website then I found the cd… and tried it? And it tells the the same thing… what can I do to correct the problem?
This is on the HP Printers…

I have a HP Photosmart C4280 Printer and a HP Pavilion dv6000 Laptop that runs Windows Vista. Whenever I plug it in to use it, it makes me go through re-installing it all over again saying it recognizes new hardware and I have to use the original CD, etc. and now i have about 14 “copies” of my printer.
Help Please!

I Have a C5180 photosmart printer-HP. My new laptop is an HP with Window vistas. I installed the printer drivers and everything works fine, but if i take the usb of the printer out of the port , when i come to put it in again, I have to go through the whole procedure of loading the print drivers as it doesn’t recognise it. Why does it do this??
