HP Deskjet printer buying guide

Ugh, I’m fed up. I got a free HP Photosmart printer/scanner with my macbook, and it was hooked up in my room. I had to plug my computer in in order to print or scan, but I didn’t mind having to do that, because it worked fine. Then our printer downstairs broke, so my parents hooked up my printer so that our two other computers could print to it. Anyway, they set it up so that my laptop could print to it wirelessly, but I cannot scan anymore. Whenever I try to scan, I get a message on the tiny screen that says “USB not connected”. I can’t even scan to the computer that it is physically hooked up to. This is getting on my nerves because I have some pictures that I really want to scan to the computer. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a HP Photosmart 2575 All-in-One printer and have been refilling the ink cartridges by injection from refill kits. I am careful with my methods and follow all instructions but with variable results. Sometimes they work well but at other times one or other colour refuses to print. Any suggestions for consistent results. Thanks, Mick

I just bought an apple iMac G4, running OS 10.4.9 (OS X) and I have 3 printers that I have hooked up to it Via USB. (Brother HL-2040, Dell AIO A920, and HP Photosmart 375.) now the problem is, there are no drivers for any of those companies on my computer, and in the “printers and hardware” section of system preferences, when I click “other” there are no drivers for any of my printers. but my iBook G3, (running OS X 10.4.9, the same software, has the drivers for my brother printer, and the HP) So whats up with my iMac? can you give me a link to download the drivers?

I have a portable printer that prints pics from an SD card. I saved the photos I wanted onto the SD card but when I put the card into my printer they don’t show up anywhere.
The SD card reader is on my laptop. I’m able to save the pics off my computer to the card but they won’t show up on the printer or when I put the card back into the camera the pics that weren’t taken with the camera won’t show up (it says card error on those specific pics) The printer has a SD card slot and the pics on the card that were taken with the camera show up fine it is only the pics that I got through an e-mail that I saved to the SD card that won’t show up. The printer is a HP Photosmart 375. What is wrong or what else can I do?

I was printing pictures it was getting ready to print a picture and it came up with a blue screen that says B816E620. What’s wrong with the printer?
