HP Deskjet printer buying guide

Are you using USB, Parallel, or Wireless connection ? Probably not wireless. try this.. un install the drivers. if USB, leave the printer un plugged from the system, install the drivers from the CD and then plug in the USB cable to the PC with the printer power on. It should see the printer and re-install automatically. If you are using parallel, you need to go into the BIOS of the computer, set the parallel port to ECP using irq 7 and DMA 3. this will allow 2-way communication with the printer. HP requires this for their parallel connections and lexmark too.

My HP Laptop and HP Printer Deskjet F2179 suddenly decided they ONLY want to print RED when they’re connected. No other colors, no black either. Sometimes only first page comes out normal and the following pages comes out red. Black cartridge is new. However, if I use my Mac iBook with printer HP F2179, everything worked very well. I have changed both cartridge (black & colour), and nothing’s changed. HP Laptop and printer are 8 months old.What to do? Thanks…

My new laptop has windows vista and microsoft word 2007. It has wifi but cant find my wireless able printer(HP Photosmart C4580). So i either need to be able to install my printer wirelesly (without the installation CD) or be able to convert my 2007 Microsoft word documents to Word Perfect so i can save them on a flash drive and bring them to my desktop. Word Perfect says it cant recognize the document when it is opened. PLEASE HELP, i have homework to do:(
