HP Deskjet printer buying guide

The 4 USB ports on the back of the computer are full, including one for the 4 port hub. Printer ONLY works correctly when connected through the HUB.. I have tried removing the hub and restarting, then installing the printer into another USB port….No dice, only works through the hub. I am trying to cut down on the cables on my desk…
Some devices ONLY work when connected direct, like my Zune MP3 player…

i need to scan a handwritten document into microsoft word and have it converted into a clena typed format. im using a Mac and an HP photosmart printer with Microsoft word version 12.0 . n help would be wonderful!!

I think somewhere in the system unit from you plug stuff into the ?motherboard? how do I know where it goes..lost the manual. It is a dell computer not sure if you need model number or where to find this info) and the printer is hp photosmart c3100

I use a laptop with 3 USB ports. I use one for my mouse. Whenever I need to print I turn on the printer, plug in the usb cable, or whatever order comes to me first, and it slows down my computer.
Not only that, I can’t print until it re-installs the software, and makes an HP printer copy, like HP Photosmart copy 2, and so on. Anyone know how to stop this? I really need documents printed fast, last minute and this affects a lot.
