Everything I Print Have A Pink Tint To It?

Hello, I just bought a HP Photosmart C4480 printer and it seems like everything that i try to print that has color to it, has a pink tint to it? I can’t believe that it would be the printer because it prints black and white fine, but when ever color, it just has a pink tint to it….. I’d like to know if there is a way to fix it, or is it the ink cartrage? I want to know before i dump $40 on a ink cartrage if that wont even fix it… Help is greatly appreciated. Also, im running in ubuntu linux, idk if that makes any difference or not, but i was thinking of goin on one of my parents computers and install the software that came with it and ran the setup on there if that would make any difference? I know it’s not the computer because i can print off of a different printer we have just fine, help is greatly greatly appreciated!

That is a wondows printer, there are no print drivers for the HP 3740. If it is text you are printing you have 2 options, copy and paste into a word program or load a generic dos printer in the dos program and try it again. You probably will lose any special formatting but it should be legible.

I imagine you have installed the scanning software hopefully. Just go in your START menu and start go in the HP folder. Select HP control center and under the FILE menu, select SCAN from there. Put the document face down on the glass and select scan
It will give you a preview . Go in the scanner setup and set it to scan at 300 dpi. That’s it. Select Scan and it will bring the image on your screen.

Are you using USB, Parallel, or Wireless connection ? Probably not wireless. try this.. un install the drivers. if USB, leave the printer un plugged from the system, install the drivers from the CD and then plug in the USB cable to the PC with the printer power on. It should see the printer and re-install automatically. If you are using parallel, you need to go into the BIOS of the computer, set the parallel port to ECP using irq 7 and DMA 3. this will allow 2-way communication with the printer. HP requires this for their parallel connections and lexmark too.
