I don’t know if this is a problem with HP printers, but with my Epson printer before, it wasn’t possible to print regular black ink documents if the colored ink was empty. For some reason it just didn’t allow it. I was wondering if HP printers are the same, specifically the HP Deskjet 2360.

Does it use just black OR color. Or does it use color and black Cartridges together?
So I have recently installed a new printer for my computer. An HP Photosmart C3180 Series All-in-One. I bought new ink for it as well, and when I first changed it, it printed this out: http://i27.tinypic.com/6ivhw4.jpg I didn’t think much of it then, because I thought it was just testing out the new ink. But since then, whenever I turn on my printer, it always prints this out first. I don’t know how to get it to stop. What can I do to make it stop printing this?
If it helps, I’m using Windows XP.
I’ve also downloaded the driver from the hewlett packard web site but nothing seems to work.It begins the setup process then acts as if it’s losing power from the usb because I’ll disconnect it then reconnect and it will begin again, but it never finishes…….
