I ahve a HP Photosmart 1000 printer and its bene great fro 5 years! The cartridges are costly so we use compatible but cheaper cartridges. I have one from “Office Depot”. Yesterday the printer suddenly displayed this message: “Colour cartridge not compatible”. I turned it off and on again and it was fine. Now its doing the same thing but wont respond when i switch on and off. Any ideas? I need it urgently!!!!
Will Hp “photosmart C4180 ” Operate With Just One Set Of Colour Cartridge(s)?

Will the printer work if i run out of the colour cartridges, i.e. will it still be printing in black? or must there be full set of cartridges present (colour and black) for the printer to operate and print.

I lost the CD to installing this printer, but I heard you can download it from the internet? Where can you? And when I plug the printer into the computer, the computer dosen’t even recognize it, should that happen? Please I need urgent response !!!!!

Can Anyone Explain Why My ’6 Colour Photo Printer’ Seems To Drink ‘yellow’ Ink?

It’s an HP Photosmart D7160. I’m very happy with it as a general printer – and the B/W doc printing seems cheapish on black ink. I seem to be getting through 3 times as many ‘yellow’ cartridges as any other colour.
I don’t print a lot of ‘sepia’ inflected photos – if anything I could understand it if I ran out of the blue shades – I do photograph a lot of seascapes.
