HP Deskjet printer buying guide

the download from hp does not work. it times out. i need a driver from a non hp related site with a non hp download. any download with hp.com in the title will not work. please help.

I’m trying to set up my new HP Photosmart C7280 Printer using Integrated wireless WLAN 802.11, but for some reason the printer cannot connect to the network. I printed off a diagnostics summary, and it recommends to check to see if MAC address filtering is being used with the router. So I went and checked my D-Link Networks Filter, and MAC filtering is set to OFF. So then I thought that maybe the printer just isn’t receiving the signal, so I moved it right next to my router. The printer sees the network, but it just won’t connect. Any ideas?

Someone reset the printer to print in black and white. A cousin of a grandson, etc.
I have looked and looked at everything that may have been changed. The printer is set to color, etc. Yes I have a color cartridge installed. I should be good as I have not been able to use it.
Any advise? I have Windows Vista. I’ve managed to work around this but now the grandkids need to print in color. Plus, it just needs to work correctly.
