HP Deskjet printer buying guide

It pops up when ever I press print. It started happening after I tried to print a webpage, and while printing, lifted up the top of the printer. The printer stopped as usual and now this message appears everytime although I have replaced the top, got enough paper, and the ink cartriges are filled.
Theres also a little orange light above a button on top of the power button that starts blinking after I press print. And it would not go off.
Please Help!

P.S I’ve tried reinstalling the printer - didnt work

I have an HP Photosmart 7450 [yah, kinda old, I know] and this printer has the little sockets to put my memory card in. I have inserted my memory card and this light flashes green a few times, then starts to flash red. And I’m unable to find my pictures from the memory card anywhere on the computer.I currently dont have any software (that i know of) on this pc for that printer. When I first got this printer I had windows xp and now I have vista. the software that came with this printer is not for vista. Would that have anything to do with my problem?

what can i do?

I have a HP photosmart C4380 printer scanner, I have a 3 pin power cord plus a specialized HP power plug that fits into the back of it. I have just plugged it in, the light on the power cord is on, but when I press the power button on the printer it won’t switch on, is there a way to get it on?
