Printer Won’t Turn On After A Paper Jam?

My hp photosmart c4480 had a paper jam. I pulled the paper out but then it turned itself off and won’t turn on again. I checked for any bits of paper and there wasn’t any left. Can I reinstall it or should it be thrown out?

Had the same thing happen with a brand new F4280.. I could never find any reason why after it printed the first page correctly it gave me the ” paper jam” message. tried everything i could think of short of completely disassembling it. finely I RMAed back to the distributor. Fortunately they sent me another new one which has worked perfectly ever since! If it was past the returnable date i would have taken it completely apart to find the problem. I would assume its a sensor that got stuck or broken.
