Printer Problems!!!!!!!!?

I have a HP psc 2400xi photosmart all-in-one printer/scanner/fax/copier. I went to turn it on this morning and it made a grinding noise. It looks like the scanner light is trying to go further than its supposed to and it’s not stopping. I unplugged it a number of times and tried to press the power button but it still is stuck and making a grinding noise. I searched on hp.com to try and find a solution but I couldn’t find anything. Has anyone else had this problem and how can I fix this?

Here is the HP site, You have several options. On line live chat, email or telephone tech support (Telephone support is not free unless it is still under warranty)

Sounds like something broke and is not working properly. Call HP and ask them and then plan on buying a new one.
