Phote Smart P1000 Will Not Oprint From Windows Vista?

i have a hp photosmart p1000 printer. i cannot get it to print from my computer which has windows vista. the system goes in ok but to print it won’t. i have tried just about everything from different plugs to rebooting to deleting the printer and starting all over again. i don’t know what to do……….help!

You may be out of luck. From HP.com:
“We are sorry to inform you that there will be no Windows Vista support available for your HP product. Therefore your product will not work with Windows Vista.
The majority of HP products not supported in Windows Vista are beyond seven years old. “http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum…
You might be able to get around this by using a generic driver. If you are using a USB connection, go into the add printer wizard and add the HP Deskjet 870c on USB1. If you have a parallel connection, use the HP Deskjet 550c on LPT1.
Otherwise, you may need to buy a new printer, or if you have an older computer around that is pre-vista (XP or earlier) you could hook it up to that and printshare it.
