About a month ago, my HP Deskjet F340 did the same thing to me. My printer pulls in paper from the right side only [as yours probably does], & this is where the wading – jamming was occuring.
I switched to a heavier paper – this helped, but did not completely cure the problem.
I slightly loosened the paper guide adjustment on left side of paper holder-feeder, to where there was a very small gap between guide & paper – paper could move [just a little bit] back & forth – sideways.
This cured the problem on my printer – has been doin’ great ever since.
If this does not cure your problem, and especially if your printer is not relatively new, it may require cleaning – dirt on the intake spools can cause jamming. If you clean youself, I would NOT recommend using alcohol; a 50%-50% mixture of
Ammonia & Water works fairly well. If you use a sprayer to spray into printer, turn printer off AND UNPLUG before spraying. Wipe as much as you can reach with cotton rag.
Leave printer unplugged for 4 to 5 hours, then retry.
If ya want, visit my new Groups webside – just created it early this morning, and right now, we have a total of 1 member – me.http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/InkCa…

There’s something like a piece of paper stuck there. Open the machine to get it out.
