My Dad Bought An Hp Photosmart C5280 All-in One….i Have A Problem!!!?

Does it only print photos only because he wanted to buy a printer that could print out Documents not photos..i mean its alright ..its just he wants to print documents as well so he bought it with the rebate from my PC and he just bought it yesterday all i wanna know is Does it print documents as well and if not can i return it? on the top it says True-to-life photos,Laser quality documents ..unless there talking about words from the internet u can copy and paste!

Yes that printer will print documents. Like any other printer, you have to install the software disc onto the computer. Also, take a look at the manual. You will find that your printer can also print onto printable cd’s and dvd’s.
Since your father got the printer in a computer package, if he returned the printer he would have to give up the rebate money (the rebate is only available if you purchase the printer with a computer). The C5280 is a pretty decent printer. In fact, if you want proof that the C5280 prints documents do this:
Put some regular printing paper into the paper tray. Then, press the green “start copy” button (I think it’s green) and the “cancel” button at the exact same time. The printer should then print out a page with a picture and some text as a regular document.
Also, here’s a tip to remember when you purchase ink: Instead of buying the regular 74 cartridge, buy the 74XL cartridge instead. This cartridge costs a little more, but it holds a lot more ink. Ultimately, the 74XL cartridge will lower your printing costs and will last longer. Hope this helps!

It should print regular documents as well. Even if it was a true photo printer, all of them print regular documents as well. You just need to put bigger paper in the tray and print away.

are there 4 or 5 ink cartridges? these would be black ,cyan,magenta and yellow, If this is the case, the printer will print in full color. If there are color cartridges, than check the settings for the printer. I don’t have an HP but when you go to printer, select a pic, paper type and there may be a setting for color or B&W. lots of luck, 4 in ones are color

It will print documents. It maybe designed to print photos but it will print a document as well. If you go to start>printers, you should see that printer. Right click on it and select properties. In the next window you will see print a test page. This will send a test page that is a text document.
