It seems HP made this series with some using parallel cables and some with USB cables.
The link above will help you determine which cable you need. USB ports are small and the parallel ports are big.

this printer uses parallel cables that is more likely is not supported by ur laptop ,so you ether try to find a parallel to usb converter or just buy a new usb printer.

It’s either a USB cable or a parallel port cable it needs – the USB printer cables have a standard USB connector on the PC side and a small rectangular connector on the printer side.
Parallel port cables have very wide connectors on both sides.
If it’s a newish PC and printer, it should be USB.
