Making Photos Lighter?

I am (or trying to)print a photo out on a HP photosmart printer, but I am having trouble lightening it. I would like to know how to do this. Any answers.

lightening photos for print ?
to increase printing speed, reduce the printing quality slighty.
if you want to get ‘very high quality’ photos from printer, you can’t do anything to increase the printing speed. it doesn’t matter if your file size is 300kb or 3mb.
if you mean : making your photos files lighter, just convert it to .jpg and increase the compression ratio.
High compression ratio = lower quality.
but it will not increase your printing speed.

I have two solutions:
1. Try using a photo editing software. A program called Microsoft Picture Manager is what I use. It comes bundled with Microsoft Office 2003.
2. Try reducing the printing quality to draft.

photoshop is the best option.

Download a free program called infranview, it’s pretty easy to use, open the picture in the program and go to “enhance colours” under image and there you go it’s pretty self explanitory when you get into it.
