Ive A Hp Photosmart 3180 Printer. Tried To Print Photos But After Pressing Print A ‘save File As’ Icon Shows

problems started when windows suddenly stopped working while i was updating the hp software update they’d sent. i couldnt click on ‘hp solutions centre’ (on my desktop menu) it said no devices detected. i reinstalled and ‘hp solutions centre’ returned however when i went to print photos in ‘hp photosmart essential’ (on desktop menu) it wouldn’t allow me and showed a ‘save the file as’ box instead.

Your default printer is obviously now set to a file printer – such as the adobe pdf creator or Microsoft imaging.
Make sure your printer is selected and not one of the file printers.
File printers allow you to “print” to a pdf or image file.
