If The Computer I Built Doesn’t Have A Wireless Chipset, Can I Still Use A Wireless Printer?

I use wired internet because it’s faster than wireless. I bought the HP Photosmart C4580 and it’s wireless. Can I use it without buying a wireless chipset?

Wired internet is not faster than wireless. I don’t know where you got that from.
Wireless has the capability to transfer data at 108MBps and your internet connection is 10Mbps tops. Wireless is fully capable of handling the bandwidth associated with internet activity.
Anyhow, yes you can use the wireless printing function ONLY if the router you have has wireless built in.

You could print through a USB cable or you would have to add a wireless card to you computer. You don’t need a wireless router (you could do ad-hoc wireless).
And wired networks are faster than wireless. Many new computers come with gigabit ethernet NIC’s – faster than even 802.11n wireless…

You can but it also depends on the type of computer you have. You can buy adapters for wireless but they are starting to be discontinued so get one quick. You can also install via USB but if you want to use it wireless then my first option is best.

You will need to buy a wireless network card $50 or so.
Good luck
