in all. When I first upgraded my hp scanner/printer worked fine.Now I am getting this”no scan options refer to the dvice document-to trouble shoot.I have tried and failed.Can anyone help with advice?

Solution one: Verify that the Digital Imaging Monitor is ready
The Digital Imaging Monitor must be running for the scan to feature to function. The Digital Imaging Monitor normally displays in the system tray in the bottom-right corner of the computer screen, which is next to the time. The Digital Imaging Monitor is ready when a check mark displays on the icon. This can take some time after startup to complete the initialization and for the check mark to display on the icon.
If the Digital Imaging Monitor displays in the system tray, proceed to Solution two – Populate the destination list .
If the Digital Imaging Monitor does not display in the system tray, complete the following steps for Windows 98, ME, and XP.
Click Start , then Run .
On the Open line, type msconfig .
Click OK .
On the System Configuration screen, click the Startup tab.
Search the list for the HP Digital Imaging Monitor .
If HP Digital Imaging Monitor is not on the list, the driver was not correctly installed or a custom install was used. Proceed to Solution three – Uninstall and reinstall the software .
Select the HP Digital Imaging Monitor check box.
Click Apply , and then Close . Click Yes to restart.
Solution two: Populate the destination list
The destination list must be populated for the scan to feature to function. Complete the following steps to populate the destination list.
Open the HP Solution Center. Use one of the following methods to open the HP Solution Center.
On the Windows desktop, double-click the HP Solution Center icon.
On the taskbar, click Start , point to Programs or All Programs , point to HP , and then click HP Solution Center .
If you have installed more than one HP device, click the tab for the All-in-One product. The HP Solution Center shows only the functions, settings, and support options that are appropriate for the selected HP product.
Click Settings .
Click Scan Settings and Preferences .
Click Scan to… Setup .
Click the Destination List tab.
NOTE: Depending on the computer performance, it can take several minutes for the Front Panel Destination List to populate after turning on the printer or computer.
If the Front Panel Destination List is empty, this is the reason the All-in-One is generating the error message, and you should continue with this procedure.
If the Front Panel Destination List contains valid scan destinations, proceed to Solution three – Uninstall and reinstall the software .
Click each program that you want to display in the scan to list.
Click the Add arrow.
Click OK .
Scan a document using the All-in-One scan to feature.
If the scan fails using the scan to feature, try to scan using the HP Solution Center Scan button.
If the scan still fails, proceed to Solution three – Uninstall and reinstall the software .
Solution three: Uninstall and reinstall the software
Insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive of the computer. The software installer should automatically start.
If the software installer does not automatically start, complete the following steps:
Click Start , and then Run .
On the Open line, type X:setup , where X is the letter of the CD-ROM drive.
Click OK .
On the installer screen, click Uninstall . If Uninstall is not an option, the software installation was incomplete.
Insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive of the computer. The software installer should automatically start.
If your model supports a custom install, HP Imaging Device Functions must be installed in order to scan from the unit to a computer. The recommended install will install this feature automatically. It must be manually selected during a custom install.
Follow the onscreen instructions until the printer software is completely installed.
After successful installation, scan a document.
If the scan fails and you have completed all of the solutions in this document, service your product.
