I Cannot Transfer Pictures From My Printer To My Pc?

I have an HP Photosmart 7450 [yah, kinda old, I know] and this printer has the little sockets to put my memory card in. I have inserted my memory card and this light flashes green a few times, then starts to flash red. And I’m unable to find my pictures from the memory card anywhere on the computer.I currently dont have any software (that i know of) on this pc for that printer. When I first got this printer I had windows xp and now I have vista. the software that came with this printer is not for vista. Would that have anything to do with my problem?

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. The software for the printer acts as the driver & interface for the printer to the computer to allow the special functions that it can perform. Without the software designed for that printer installed, the printer & computer don’t know how to communicate all of the special function it can do between each other. You can go upgrade your drivers and other programs concerning your printer and new vista program sometimes it needs you to reinstall and reinstall the compatible drivers for your system
