Hp Printer Cannot Connect To Network?
Filed in Deskjet Help Forums on ก.ย..07, 2009
I’m trying to set up my new HP Photosmart C7280 Printer using Integrated wireless WLAN 802.11, but for some reason the printer cannot connect to the network. I printed off a diagnostics summary, and it recommends to check to see if MAC address filtering is being used with the router. So I went and checked my D-Link Networks Filter, and MAC filtering is set to OFF. So then I thought that maybe the printer just isn’t receiving the signal, so I moved it right next to my router. The printer sees the network, but it just won’t connect. Any ideas?

Network printers need a static IP address, so you must configure a static IP for the printer. If you already assigned a static IP address to your printer But still it is not working then you need to cold reset your printer.
For this turn off your printer and hold Online or Go button and turn power on. This will reset your printer to factory default.
Now follow these steps:
1. Install Printer software from Driver CD and restart your computer.
2. Click on start menu> all programs> HP Install Network Printer Wizard> and then select HP Install Network Printer Wizard.
3. Follow on screen instructions until you get a screen prompting you Click “Select from a list of detected printers (recommended)”
(if here you don’t detect any printer than you first need to connect printer through physical network using ethernet wire and configure wireless network later)
4. Highlight the name of the printer and click next.
5. Set the Communications mode drop-down list to Windows TCP/IP.
6. Click the Change Settings button. Enter the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway information.
7. Now “Use default port name” click next and provide path to dirver cd if prompted.
8. Now turn off your printer and restart it, try to ping printer address to ensure if it is working correctly or not.
Once you have Assigned IP address to your printer, you are ready for next step, You need to configure your wireless network. Type printer’s IP address in a browser window and press enter. Here you can change wireless security settings, printer name, and whatever you want.
