Hp Photosmart Essential?

About 4 weeks ago i bought a 3 in 1 printer. It uses the program HP Photosmart Essential to be able to scan something. But this past week i’ve been trying to open the photosmart and window pops up saying there has been a runtime error and that it has terminated. Without this program my scanner is pretty much worthless. I even downloaded the HP Photosmart Essential from the net but instead my printer opens up the old photosmart essential and not the new one.
Some help please. Thank you

Go to the Control Panel, choose Add/Remove programs, and remove Photosmart and the HP scanner drivers. Unplug the scanner cable from the PC, then shut down and restart the PC and reinstall everything from the CD. (You shouldn’t need to download a new version unless you’ve lost the CD.)
(Did you install anything a week or two ago which might have caused the problem? If reinstalling doesn’t help, you’re going to have to look for what might be causing the problem.)

We have the same Problem. The runtime error causes since the last update of the HP Photosmart Essential Software. If i work as an administrator it work just fine. but as a power user i became the same error. If i found something i will answer again.
