Hp Photosmart 1315 — Computer Recognizes Printer — Software Downloaded But Not Recognizing Printer. Why?

Software downloaded from HP site and installation instructions were followed. I tried “Add Printer” on my pc and this particular printer isn’t one of the many HP choices listed. Do I need to bother “adding” a printer anyway?

Choose the I want to browse for drivers, or have cd. I forget how it is stated. Then go to where the driver is.
Usually windows/system32
HP’s are strange. You can not have them plugged in when doing install.
