How To Connect To The Internet Faster Which Has Slowed Down After Having Installed A Hp Deskjet 2500 Printer?

by admin on ก.ค..14, 2009, under Deskjet Help Forums

Actually I have recently installed a printer after which I discovered that getting connected to the internet is taking a lot of time while previously it was working fine. After about 1.5 minutes a message says that no firewall is turned on (even though it has already been done so) and then the window for getting connected to the internet opens. Please suggest a suitable solution to get connected faster.

Go to Control Panel > Network Connections. Right click on your main network connection (probably just called Local Area Connection) and click Properties. There should be a list of items with check boxes next to them. Uncheck everything except “Internet Protocol TCP/IP”. The most important one to uncheck is “File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks”

no printer should slow down the internet connection - there simply is no logic to it, since it should be unrelated. my guess is there’s a port conflict, if u use a modem to connect to the internet - easiest fix to do this is assigning a different port to the printer - go in control panel, printers, properties , Ports and try assigning port LPT1 or LPT2 to the printer , or if it’s a network printer, assign a different IP by incrementing the last number in the ip by 1 ( xxx.xxx.xxx.1 IP becomes xxx.xxx.xxx.2) in the same section.
