I have an HP Photosmart C4480 printer, scanner and copier. I have an HP Pavilion dv6000. I can’t scan anything to my laptop and I can’t figure out how to do it.

If you cant see the scanner function try reinstalling or updating your drivers for the device.
Drivers can be found ether here

you put the image you need scanned in your scanner, select scan to file, and it should scan and show you on your monitor, then it should give you the option where to save it, and if need be rename it, so you can remember? If it is not doing this then suggest you install your all in one and reinstall. If you read the manual it will tell you to install all the drivers first before plugging in device, this is standard for most plug n play devices (USB)

There should be software for the printer that you can install that will enable this for you. The printer manual also describes how to do this.
