Help With My Printer Please!?

Hey,
I have just bought a HP Deskjet F2400 All-in-one Series Printer, i have installed all the software however, i got to the point where it tells me to connect the Printer to the Computer Via the USB Cable which i have connected however my Laptop doesn’t recognize the Printer.
Does anyone have a solution to my problem?

Hello Olly is your USB ports working? also unplug any other USB stuff and plug the printer in via the USB.
