Help With Hp Photosmart C4480. I Keep Getting Message Firewall Is Turned Off?

after installing printer I keep getting message firewall turned off. It seems to click off and then when I get into security to check it is on.
Have uninstalled and pc seems ok again. Would I be right in thinking that the printer is incompatable with my system XP Service Pack 3 and running virgin broadband. Any help appreciated. Think I might just take printer back.

It could be incompatible although I doubt it. Try installing in this fashion since HP are quite fussy
Remove the USB cable from the printer and power it on. Now start a fresh install and re-connect the USB cable back ONLY when the program asks you.
Let it finish and REBOOT the computer. Windows should find it no problem. It should work now

The printer shouldn’t be doing anything with the firewall. It is XP compliant but you don’t give details of your system, just the OS and your ISP (Virgin).
I would do a full scan for Virii/spy/malware.
