Help With Connecting To A Printer Wired To A Router Over A Home Network With A Xp And Mac Computer?
Filed in Deskjet Help Forums on ม.ค..20, 2010
I have a HP Photosmart All in one C5180 Series printer. I have it hooked up to my wireless router via an Ethernet cable. On my Vista computer I was able to go to
Printers -> Add New -> Network Printer-> and then select it from the list that popped up.
On my XP computer, I dont know how to add that printer. I have tried putting in the Printers IP for URL and everything. I also dont know how to do it on my iMac.
Thanks

I’m not sure about the XP computer, but with the Mac it’s really easy.
First of all you have to install the printer driver software on the mac if you haven’t already. Then, just open system preferences and go to ‘print & fax’.. Then click the + button to add a new printer, and select ‘ip’ from the list of available print methods.
Simply type in the network ip address where the printer is located and voila.. youre ready to print.
