Help My Scanner Has Such Poor Quality And I Think It’s Better Than That?

Hi i have a hp photosmart all-in-one printer. is the scanner really that poor or it’s just because i tried to scan something pencil? can i change the setting or something?

A scan will never be better than the original.
A pencil original will be lighter than a normal print, so you may need to go into the scanner settings and darken it, or set it to “pure” “black and white” instead of greyscale.
Also if you scan stuff from a newspaper or magazine it often will show lines and curves in it from the printing system they use, this is because the scanner see’s more than our eye and doesn’t have a brain to see a “picture” it only sees pixels

When you scan a drwing with a pencil, set the scanner to at least, 300 dpi to get a good scan or 600 dpi. That way. you can apply a little contrast and the scan will be good quality.
