“colour Cartridge Not Compatible” !!!!!!?

I ahve a HP Photosmart 1000 printer and its bene great fro 5 years! The cartridges are costly so we use compatible but cheaper cartridges. I have one from “Office Depot”. Yesterday the printer suddenly displayed this message: “Colour cartridge not compatible”. I turned it off and on again and it was fine. Now its doing the same thing but wont respond when i switch on and off. Any ideas? I need it urgently!!!!

If the message is intermittent, try cleaning the cartridge contacts using alcohol (either methylated spirit or isopropyl alcohol).

Sometimes printers will detect that you are not using the manufacturer’s cartridges. You could talk to Office Depot or just buy Proper HP cartridges.

It could be problem with any particular cartridge not with all…so try another…..
