You can use a wireless printer device to directly attach to your printer, if directly connecting to either one is a problem in your current lay-out. Be sure and install all drivers correctly on all machines. Using “Network Magic” can help simplify the tasks.
Plug the printer into a wireless router. And I assume your laptop has a wireless NIC. Load the driver on the laptop and it should talk to the printer. It’s silly to do anything but hard wire the desktop into the printer. Neither is portable.
