HP Deskjet printer buying guide

I have an HP dv-5 1125 laptop, and i’m pretty sure it’s blue-tooth capable. i just got a printer, an hp photosmart c5580 and it comes with the HP bt500 bluetooth usb 2.0 wireless adapter. now i’ve tried connecting it but my laptop won’t pick it up, i’ve gone to start then printers then add a printer then to the wireless, bluetooth setup, but it won’t find it, and the adapter is connected to the printer and on and working. so how can i get it to connect with out me having to go buy a usb cable?

The printer has worked perfectly since 2004. Now it will not print from MS Word or Notepad. The 7260 is set as the default printer. The printer port (DOT4_001) was uninstalled and the computer found the printer after re-starting the computer and connecting the printer. Printer software has been re-installed. USB cables have been changed and different USB connections tried (5 available) on my ASUS laptop. Print queue has been cleared and Print spooler stopped and started. Clicking on “reconnect hp 7200….from the warning icon in the system tray removed the red cross from the warning icon but did not resolve the problem.
Where to now????

hi i just bought the SanDisk USB Flash Drive and my computer recognizes it but my scanner doesnt recognize the device when i plug it into my printer. i have the HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-One printer which has a scanner, fax, and copy machine as well..and when i plug it into my printer it says “Unknown device. Disconnect device. Refer to printer documentation to troubleshoot.” i tried disconnecting the device and the same message appeared. how do i fix this?? the flash drive works on my computer but not on my printer…help!!!

I have an HP Photosmart 2575 and I cannot for the life of me find out what adapter it needs. Anyone happen to know?

We bought a new printer yesterday (HP Photosmart C4585) and have 2 problems…
1 - We ‘removed’ Norton anti-virus when we bought the computer ages ago, because we prefer a different program. However, there seems to be a bit of Norton remaining, and this is refusing to allow the printer software to load. We can’t uninstall Norton again as the computer says it’s been done, and we can’t access Norton to allow the printer software to load because it says we don’t have Norton access to do anything about it…!
2 - Our other problem is that the bit of printer software that did load has added an HP toolbar to our internet browser, with stuff like HP Smart Deals & HP create. I know we can hide them, but we just don’t want these things running - they won’t be removed either!!
What can we do to resolve either of these problems? We’ve been left with a printer we can’t use, and a toolbar that we can - but very much don’t want!
